Domestic Goddess

Reading the newspapers in the past week women all over the country must have leaped  in the air.Their eyes must have glittered with the union minister's statement envisaging salary for all homemakers by their husbands .
This news has left husbands pondering how could women expect wages in lieu for services rendered in maintaining home which they themselves ruled. It requires certain amount of introspection in actually getting the motive behind the idea.Though it may seem quite unreasonable for males who believe in passing the  buck down the hierarchy but for the homemakers themselves  have to negotiate recurring challenges.
I believe no amount of money ,what to speak of paltry percentage of husband's salary could equal a homemakers dedication for her family.

It has been rightly said that "Mothers and housewives are the only....... great vacation-less class".

And Hollywood actress Roseanne has commented "I hate the word housewife;I don't like the word homemaker either .I want to be called Domestic Goddess."

Expressing Yourself

Describing yourself in a few words can become a tedious task sometimes because we all believe we have so many qualities but when it comes to writing we start looking for words.
Its simply because expression varies from person to person and we may not be having expression as one our qualities.

Describing yourself positively is one aspect in the journey of learning how to find yourself that is essential.

In today's world faced with so many interviews right from job finding to dating websites ,forums Facebook and so on all expect us to write a few words on our self, it becomes important to choose the words which fit our personality and being variable creatures that humans are,you may find different adjectives for yourself during different faces of life.
There are so many adjectives that can be used to describe a person and it becomes important to find the correct combination so as to be appealing in interviews,or in the online arena.

UTOPIA GMCH-2010 Part- 2

UTOPIA GMCH-2010 Part -1

Medical College Dairies-GMCH,Chandigarh

Entering into college means new aspirationshope,a sense of being mature individual , “cool dude” attitude and so on……………
GMCH
PRAYAS BUILDING adequate name for first year grads
Though in medical colleges picture invariably seems to be Topsy Turvy with feeling of being demoted to primary school starts haunting you after first few sessions

yes GMCH had its own very history with building at 38 named as PRAYAS .
It was very adequately named I feel
PRAYAS= effort , an effort one had to make to come to GMCH at 32 real sector 32 I mean
Its name reminded one the efforts he/she had to make to come on term with realities
there were so many RULES .it was more of JUVENILE home I believe where you landed after clearing PU CET
It was a new whole world that college opens to you and PRAYAAS gave you every reason to frown on it
the Nostalgia of not being able to use lifts still is fresh in everyone memories
those name plates that were compulsory on overalls which after first year vanished into eternity
NO canteen [really missed it thought going to canteen was considered cool before that]
the RECREATION room at top floor with one Table tennis table and yes those “secure” lockers whose keys we got in first week and used other methods to open them throughout year
and above all D-HALL trauma -3 hours of everyday picnic in it with those CUNNIGGAM’S manuals

Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna........

Shri Ram Prasad Bismil

A great patriotic poem written by Sh.Ram Prasad Bismil.

English Translation....
The desire for sacrifice is now in our hearts
We shall now see what strength there is in the boughs of the enemy.
O country, Why does none here talks to each other?
Whoever I see, is gathered quiet in your party...
O martyr of country, of nation, I submit myself to thee
For yet even the unacquainted speaks of thy courage
The desire for struggle is in our hearts
We shall now see what strength there is in the boughs of the enemies.
When the time comes, we shall show thee, O heaven
For why should we tell thee now, what lurks in our hearts?
We are pulled to service, by the hope of martyrdom
The gathering of the lovers for martyrdom is in the house of the enemy
The desire for struggle is in our hearts
We shall now see what strength there is in the boughs of the enemies.
Armed does the enemy sit, ready to attack on that side
Ready too are we, our bosoms thrust out to him on this side
With blood we shall play Holi, if our nation is in need
The desire for struggle is in our hearts
No sword can sever hands that have the heat of battle within,
No threat can bow heads that have risen so
Even furthermore will rise the flame that is inside us
and the desire for struggle is in our hearts
We set out from our homes, our heads shrouded with cloth(our body bag),
Holding our lives in our hands, do we march so
In our assembly of death, life is now but a guest
The desire for struggle is in our hearts
Stands the enemy in the gallows thus, asking,
Does anyone has a wish for martyrdom?
With a host of storms in our heart, and with revolution in our breath,
We shall knock the enemy cold, and no one shall stop us
What guts does our destination has, to stay away from us
The desire for struggle is in our hearts
What good is a body that does not have passionate blood,
How can a boat tied to shore contest with storms over wild seas
The desire for struggle is in our hearts,
We shall now see what strength there is in the boughs of the enemies.

Exams Versus Festivals..............

Yes this happens every year and year after year the same story repeats itself
Diwali is one festival which probably acts like a trigger stimulus to all medicos and they start their own jagratas which are with books ,notes and all related stuff which world forgets in festive season

When the outer world associates it with joy laughter and fireworks
Medicos celebrate it with the upcoming SEND UPs or pre finals as u may call
If PAVLOV (conditioned reflex) experiment is to be repeated on medicos u can test test it by just asking for DIWALI date and note the impression on their faces and u would know u  have succeeded

Diwali probably acts as stimulus as if world is ending ,reminding of long unread and unsung theories in books and mugging them up brisk pace ;somehow unending books seem to be readable at these times of year

Punjabi Thought on life.......

Spotted at Leisure Valley Chandigarh,This en-craving on the rock spells out the Punjabi Youth way of life .
Kudos to the guy who took time out of his college schedule(Most probably, being adjacent to Arts College) to spread this message to whole of Chandigarh.(or his damsel).

"Even if you live a few days less in your life, live  excessively refined and fastidious in taste and manner(foppish)".
